The Board had set the SMR Engineering dept the goal of a Grand Re-opening of the SMR facilities at Deddington Junction in September 2009 to mark its 30th anniversary. Recent events forced postponement of the work on Hempton shed and the celebrations were eventually held on Boxing Day. Hempton shed is now operational and the formal opening ceremony was performed by Junior Director Lucy ... Ganny lent a hand.

The same day, the Director for Southern Affairs and Middle Aston Station Master, Matt took the regulator and, despite receiving a severe caution for reversing out of Deddington tunnel without a 'wrong line working' docket from the signal box, was re-appointed from Passed Fireman to Driver.
It is hoped that Director for the Western Approaches and Hook Norton Station Master, Jimmi will report to renew his driver's ticket too in the near future. |
