| After discovering Lambourn station aound 1955, Colin wrote a letter in the Railway Magazine, appealing for info on the line. Lots of help was offered and material gathered (most of which he still has) and he even got access to papers in the Houses of Parliament library. | |

Built around 1956, the static model was rather a gash job, using the Wren track lifted from the old L&SMLTR with the centre third rail removed.
The good shed was built using only photographs. It is to rebuilt for Barford on the Deddington line, this time using scale drawings that have ben published in the meantime. |

Our original Hornby Dublo 0-6-2-T was converted to look a bit like a GWR South Wales, Taff Vale type loco. It remains in the museum. Some other rolling stock is still in use.

| The Lambourn buildings were given to the son of Baba's friend Gwen's sister (!) when the model was abandoned for higher things.
Overall, it was a pretty crude model by today's standards. |

Colin wrote an article which appeared in the Model Railway News for September 1958. The text is here as a PDF.
There is an extensive and fine website devoted to the prototype Lambourn Valley Railway. |
